Meet Jonathan

My name is Jonathan.
I tie people up - and I mean that in the best possible way.
What I do has a name. Several, actually. Shibari. Kinbaku. Rope art. Rope bondage. These words carry history, tradition, and in some circles, an almost sacred weight. I respect all of that. I studied it. I practiced it. I spent time understanding what generations of Japanese rope masters built with patience, discipline and extraordinary precision.
And then I chose a different path.
Not out of disrespect - quite the opposite. Out of deep curiosity about what rope could become when you let go of the rulebook. When you trade perfection for playfulness. When you replace ritual with spontaneity. When the goal isn't a flawless tie - it's a genuine human moment.
Traditional Shibari is almost an exact science. Every knot deliberate. Every line intentional. Every position considered and held. It is extraordinarily beautiful, and extraordinarily serious.
My work is something else entirely.
It is chaotic in the best sense. Imperfect on purpose. Joyful, surprising - and yes, frequently funny. The rope goes where the moment takes it, shaped by who my model is, what she's feeling, and what emerges when two people are genuinely present with each other. Sometimes we plan the tie together. Sometimes I surprise her. Sometimes the rope surprises us both. Sometimes someone ends up inverted in grey sports socks, reading a book, and grinning. That's not a failure of the process - that's the process working exactly as it should.
Fair warning for my future model: sessions occasionally involve laughter, mild surprise, and the discovery that you are considerably more interesting than you thought.
I work with real people. Everyday women - not professional models, not performers, not people with experience in Shibari or Kinbaku. Women between 35 and 65 who are curious, open, a little daring, and honest enough to say yes to something they've never tried before. Women who are willing to discover what a rope and a camera can reveal about them - on their own terms, dressed however feels right, celebrated exactly as they are.
I believe every woman is beautiful. Not as a slogan - as a genuine, practiced conviction. If you want to be my model - whatever you think about your body right now, I'd gently invite you to set that thought aside for the duration of a session and see what the rope finds instead. It usually finds something you weren't expecting.
What I bring to every session is what I call the five C's - the values that shape everything I do:
-
Consent - where everything begins. Always. Without exception.
-
Connection - the invisible thread between us that makes the rope mean something.
-
Creativity & Curiosity - following what's alive in the moment, never repeating a formula.
-
Celebration - of your body, your presence, your particular and unrepeatable beauty.
-
Care - from the first knot to the last conversation, and beyond.
I am based in Tenerife - which, if you've never been, is a volcanic island of dramatic landscapes, warm light, and surprisingly good backdrops for a rope session. I also travel regularly, and wherever I go, I bring rope and an open invitation.
If something on this page made you curious — good. That's exactly where we start.
