Light & Laughter

Every shoot starts with a conversation and a theme - or so I thought. This one started with neither: no word chosen beforehand, no location scouted in advance. Just a bridge, a tree, an old iron gate rusting quietly by the water - and my decision to let whatever was there lead the rope, instead of the other way around.

Sam Jones was back for round three. The same curiosity that carried her through her first session returned for something with even less to hold onto: no direction given, nothing to perform, just herself and whatever the day offered.

"This was a try-out shoot," she said. "We all had things to try and learn from."

What it produced was less a plan than a mood. "It created freedom and playfulness - being tied to a tree, or on a bridge…" Nature did its share of the work too: "I loved being so close to nature, and I think the light is amazing. It all came together here."

No heaviness today. In Sam's own words: "Sometimes it gets a bit serious, but not today. Light, love and laughter."
